Fighting Caravans: 'Tyrannosaur' - Single

Here's a great track to finish off 2015 with. A year which has once again provided us Modernists and many music lovers alike with some superb music. From Saturns Pattern to Blossoms to Noels second coming, we were treated to some truly awesome stuff!

Fighting Caravans are a 5 piece alternative Indie/Rock band from Leeds who's influences include Queens of the Stone Age, Nick Cave and The Doors. Some great influences there, and the band even toured across the UK and Europe in late 2015 receiving great receptions wherever they went.

'Tyrannosaur'

A really dark Indie track which has your ears paying attention from the first chord to the last. With heavy Josh Homme esque guitar, accompanied by light cymbals and feedback this tune starts off with a calming pace. The vocals then begin with a constant bassline being played in the background adding to this dark grungy affair, it reminds me of The Rascals debut album! The pedal effects used are superb and the guitar parts take on a life of their own. The guitars remind me of early Kings of Leon and that American bluesy southern Rock n Roll sound. This is the type of tune that will get a room of gig goers interested immediately it's mysterious and wears its influences proudly on its sleeve. Foot tapping will be galore along with the head nodding of approval from those in the know. It sounds great blaring out of a PC so I can only imagine it sounds huge when being played live, I hope I have the pleasure to hear it someday! The band play excellently as an ensemble and push the track along with their musical creativity. This is a song which would sit brilliantly in the middle of an LP or and EP and really grab the listeners attention. It showcases just how dark Indie Rock n Roll can become if done correctly its not too heavy but not too light and gives the listener everything they desire. Well done lads, great track!
